Day Four

Sarah’s ill but our decision to get going is wonderfully rewarded. Walking high along the 1000m high cliffs of the Imja Khola. Stunning views of Ama Dablam. The Nupste Ridge halts the far end of our valley and Everest and Lhotse rise above. It suddenly looks a long way to go.

After descending to the valley, we have a hard 700m climb again to Tengboche monastery, perched on a ridge under Ama Dablam (behind me in the pic).
