Day Eight

Today the pace slows right down. It’s a two hour plod up to Gorak Shep, our home for the night at 5’100m. After breakfast we slow down again to walk over the Khumbu Glacier to reach Everest Base Camp at 5’364. Surrounded by 7000+m peaks, snow covered granite monsters.

It’s some feeling getting up here. The effort is overwhelming but the view is incredible.
Unfortunately, the altitude is making us so sick we’re in bed by 6.30pm for a terrible nights sleep.

From left to right, the team: Surpin, Tom, Sarah, Chris, Tashi (our awsome guide), Jo, bruce and Pradeep
