Kyoto also has some pretty cool 'zen' gardens - this one is Tiger leaping Garden. Perhaps not as impressive as the gorge, photos don't really do it justice but the beautiful wooden buildings, framed views of waterfalls, moss and stones and carp filled ponds are pretty special.

After a long day navigating the Kyoto bus system we settle down to tea in a local caf...You place your order in a vending machine. Then the waitress disappears to cook youur meal. The food here is strange too. Lots of deep fried pork, green tea ice cream and something Mum eloquently said looked like sh*t!!
