Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of those places that I (Tom) never thought I would see. It always seemed so exotic and far away that it would never happen - not to mention Sarah's dislike for mountains and specifically walking in them.
But after a bit of reverse psyhcology to persuade Sarah of the merits of hiking up one of the world's most famous footpaths I think we can both report it as two of the best days we have spent on our travels...the views are incredible, the waterfalls and goat herds the most challenging obstacle, the ice cold beer after hiking the 28 (we counted 38) bends possibly the best we've ever drunk (the next 6 were not necessary!).
And to top it all the toliets at Halfway hostel have the best views under the sun - I believe Michael Palin agreed on his way through in Himalaya. I'll put a photo of them on the flickr of course but above you can enjoy the, quite frankly, bowel loosening drive back through the gorge after 2 days on our feet.
