Lijiang

Lijiang sits in the foothills of the Himalayas and is a Unesco World heritage Site that unusually for China deserves the credit. There is water everywhere tumbling through the alleyways lined with lanterns. The buildings are traditionally built and traditionally restored, the views across the rooftops to the mountains beyond spectacular.

To the north of town sits a lake that reflects the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain...it may be what everyone comes to photograph but it is worth the effort in getting here and the coachload of vomit.

Tomorrow we head for Tiger Leaping Gorge...

Looks delightful, although the journey to get there less so. Don't try leaping the gorge!
