Himeji Jo

Himeji Jo is a fairy tale castle in a small town which we stopped at en route to Hiroshima...
OK so it was rebuilt just 50 years ago, but using the same methods and materials as in 1580 by Shogun Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It's a beautiful place complete with samurai outfits and Sarahs favourite - the ishiotoshi (basically holes to throw rocks through). And at the top yopu get this stunning view. Japan is so green at the moment it's a bit a bit of a shock to the system for us after SE Asia.
So were the Shinkansen, Tom cannot cope with the excitement of one rushing past at 140 miles an hour. And they are seriously plush as well.
