After New Years Eve in a fancy Italian restaurant (where entertainment was provided by a line of prositutes at the bus stop outside) we watched the fireworks over the Bangkok skyline from our 14th floor hotel room.

We woke hungover and headed out for a cultural day at Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. After we borrowed clothes for decency reasons, this soon resembled a Woolworths work day out. All gold stupas, tiled guardians and giant buddahs, the luxury on display at two of Bangkoks nost revered sites was stunning...even if our outfits left a little to be desired.
