5 timezones, 6000 miles, 5 weeks. From the Baltic Sea to the Yellow Sea we have arrived in Beijing.
The most stunning scenery yet through gorges, mile after mile of corn fields and remnants of the great wall. And then the spitting, the hustle, the armies of baseball hat wearing tour groups, smog and grilled centipedes. Beijing is another world.
In outer Mongolia you barely see people, or towns. As soon as you cross the border people are everywhere and every inch of the landscape has been worked. China will be hectic and crowded wheverever we go. But we cannot wait to get started.
Oh and the real train highlight was the fat man who walked around in his small pants on the train. Quite a journey.
