Jodphur is a beautiful town, a red sandstone fort sits imperiously above the jumble of indigo coloured houses (the colour keeps away the insects apparently).

The view from the battlements looking down over it all is equally as stunning, the town is surrounded by a huge mediaeval wall. And for once on our travels, this is a museum done well. Even an audio guide to make up for spending 25 times the amount locals do to get in.

But the place is brought to life. Maharaja, princesses, sieges, elephants and slaves. For once you actually can feel the life in a building and its great. More please!
