Dubai

Wow, Dubai is bonkers.
From the world's tallest building - the Burj Dubai at 818m and 170 floors - to the palm islands, it's a world of make believe randomness. Which we're really enjoying.
Maybe it's the cleanliness, the malls, the nice public toilets and the beach. But we've sorely missed civilisation.

Plus we're getting the luxury of staying with our Everest Base Camp buddies, Bruce and Jo, who have wonderfully put us up in a beach front apartment with the most comfortable bed on earth and clean sheets!!!!!

God knows what will happen to this town in the future, but even despite its seeming financial meltdown, there's still empty skyscrapers going up everywhere. But so glad we came to see it...
