We broke things up with a stop in Janikpur – one of the holiest sites in Hinduism. Also, an absolute dump. Quite literally. We tried to ignore the open sewers and piles of rubbish everywhere. Sarah enjoyed having her rickshaw hit by a motorcyclist en route to our lovely hotel (toilet blocked with used condoms). In the morning Tom had 40 odd mosquito bites. They obviously got through the window mesh and coil (that worked in every other country) because they bred in the open cess pit directly outside our door. If we die in the next 10 days you’ll know why.
