Papua

We wanted to get off the beaten track...we seem to have come off the end of the tourist map.
Our flight from Bali was full of American Missionaries. As we came into land in the South of Papua, the plane banked revealing a crazily windy brown river snaking through mile after mile of jungle. Then back up into the air for an incredible ride over mountains and the heart of this country to the north coast and Jayapura.
The scenery is stunning just from our balcony. Tomorrow, we catch another ridiculously early flight back into the interior for a week of trekking and chilling out in the jungle with the Dani tribes. It could be annoyingly touristy. But there doesn't seem to be anyone here except the happy clappy evangelists.
