Bali blues

Hmm, well Tom is lying down after a traumatic two days, and has entrusted me with writing the blog (read forced me to write - for about the 3rd time in 11 months).
Traumatic due to the fact that he's not well, coupled with a day of 16 hour travelling, followed by our initiation to Bali. It's always sounded so exotic and exciting. It's not. It's FULL of tourists, and I reckon at least one in every three men is wearing a vest. There are white people everywhere, and it's not really our cup of tea.
On the plus side, we're now away from the beach (although the big waves and people watching were a lot of fun) and in a very gentrified Ubud. It's a bit like being in Stoke Newington, or on Upper Street ('Isabella, Isabella, mummy is not enjoying you running around') but with good weather and a pool. The humous and babaganoush may keep us here for a while.
And yes, we are snobbish spoilt brats - apologies.
