Inle Lake

Yippee – the temperature is dropping. The village of Nyuang Shwe sits on the side of Inle lake, and this is our base for a couple of nights, and Tom’s horrible funny turn.

We take a boat out on the lake for a day, seeing the crazy way that the men paddle with their legs. Along the way we see silversmiths, the long necked tribe, more stupas, cigar making (not going to be a career choice for Tom), and meet a monk who knows more about Posh and Becks and Wayne and Colleen than the most avid Heat reader. But, the highlight of the day has to be the cats trained to jump through hoops at the monastery – sheer brilliance.
